Lecturer (Krakow University of Economics, SWPS University, AGH University of Science and Technology, WSB Merito University), co-creator of the Open Eyes Economy movement (oees.pl), popularizer of economic knowledge – author of the blog and podcast Wiedza Nieoczywista (bartlomiejbiga.pl), expert at the think tank Centrum Analiz Klubu Jagiellońskiego. His work focuses on the economic analysis of law – from theoretical (scientific), practical (implementation), and journalistic (media) perspectives. His main areas of interest include intellectual property, behavioral economics, and the digital economy.
He earned a PhD in economics from the Krakow University of Economics after defending his dissertation titled “Economic and Social Analysis of Patent Law”, supervised by Prof. Jerzy Hausner. He also completed two integrated master’s degrees – law and administration – at the Jagiellonian University, as well as the attorney apprenticeship at the Krakow Bar Association, where he was admitted to the list of attorneys. He undertook a research internship at Grand Valley State University. He obtained a habilitation degree in social sciences in the field of economics and finance. He has been involved in numerous scientific and implementation projects as an expert in the economic analysis of law.
He is the author of several dozen scientific publications, including two monographs: “Współczesne transformacje instytucji własności: perspektywa ekonomiczna” (2023, Scholar Publishing) and “The Economics of Intellectual Property and Openness: The Tragedy of Intangible Abundance” (2021, Routledge). He is a member of the Polish Association of Law and Economics and the Italian Law and Economics Association.
