Department of Public Economics

The Department of Public Economics conducts research on the impact of public policy tools on the functioning of a broadly defined economic system, taking into account the demands of sustainable development.
In particular, the subject of analysis is energy policy, taking into account the requirements of green transformation and the problem of energy poverty. Research is also conducted on the effectiveness of entities in the area of health care, as well as the possibility of using modern technological solutions in the public sector. The results of the conducted research are used in the didactic process in the field of energy economics and sustainable transformation conducted in full-time and part-time master’s degree programmes. The Department maintains and keeps up to date a heating cost calculator for single-family homes showing the differences depending on the energy source.
